South Ari Atoll, otherwise called
Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, is an administrative division of the Island Nation -
Maldives. It has a total of 49 islands out of which only 10 are
inhabited. The island of Mahibadhoo serves as the capital of Southern
Ari Atoll. As the name suggests, it is the southern part of Ari Atoll,
which was formerly called Alifu Atoll. On its Fenfushi Island, there
used to be a spectacular mosque, whereas Buddhist remnants were found in
Ariadhoo Island. Like other atolls of the Maldive islands, this one too,
is not short of picturesque spots and enthralling reef formations.
Tourists from various parts of the world come here to take pleasure in
the serene environment.
