airports in Maldives, Malé International Airport that lies on
the Hulhulé Island in the North Malé Atoll near Male
is the main international airport. It has been playing a significant

flight operations have not yet started taking place. The Male international airport was officially inaugurated by Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, the then president on November 11, 1981. The airport is well equipped and consists of a bank, pharmacy, duty free shops, bureau de change, restaurant and post office. It also makes provision for first aid facilities.
